Adorable poem, but we are sad too that your dad has none of his real-maple syrup! Time to online-order some from Canada, or Vermont. Around here, each nature preserve/park is having 'sugaring' events, where folks drill holes in sugar maple trees to gather the sap, then it's poured into vats at the sugar shacks to be boiled. Makes my blood sugar rise just thinking about it!
Tell Dad to hang in there ! My cousin Larry (in NE Ohio) tapped his maple trees two weeks ago and we are having the right kind of weather - cold nights and warmer days - that makes the sap run !
Lulu: "No maple syrup?! Then how can your Dad eat his pancakes up? It seems to me that he's quite in a jam and he may have to resort to eating green eggs and ham!"

Well now, that was naturally sweet Cleo, just like you! Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss and Happy Seussing Day!!!
Oh no! Tell him maple sugaring season is just about to begin here in Vermont :)
Good Seussing, Cleo! We hope your Dad's jug gets re-filled up real soon! A un-sad and glad Dad is never bad. Happy Dr. Seuss Day! XO
Very Seussy, Cleo! Poor Dad. You need to tell him about The Vermont Country Store. He could get more delivered!
Not to worry, Cleo dear,
St. Pat's Day is near,
Dad can raise high a beer,
You "green up" and just cheer!
Yeah, it's Seuss Day, but you got a poem
so no complaints ...
Green is almost as good as red and white,
and beer as good as syrup!
Fabulous poem! But I sure hope the jug can get refilled. ~Ernie

Great poem, but sorry the syrup is gone. I saw buckets on trees today so someone is making syrup.
Cleo your word well was plentiful for that great Dr. Seuss poem.
Hugs Cecilia

Great Dr. Seuss homage! And I would share our syrup if I could. Be well!
