Limber Old Gal

Well, thanks for that humdrum dump that had nothing to do with me.  So getting back to yours truly-

I have no shortage of places to sit around here, and I certainly have my favorites, but now and then I like hopping up on a bench mom and dad got not too long ago.

They bought it mostly because dad's getting old and it helps him to sit and put his shoes on, but every once in a while I'll jump up and just sit there, surveying my kingdom from about a foot and a half on high.  The bench used to sit in a spot not far from our kitchen island, where there are taller chairs where mom and dad occasionally eat, and one day they caught me showing just how agile I can still be for an older gal.

Truthfully, there was food involved.  I was home for lunch. We tell ourselves that she loves us and just wants to be near us.

Liar.  So where was I?  Oh yeah-

Of course, I need their help getting down from the chair once I'm up there since I haven't yet mastered going from the chair back to the bench for some reason.

Let's be honest, we're worried about her landing what with her weight and age and all.

Okay Mr. I-need-to-sit-to-put-on-my-shoes.  Whatever you say.  Anyway-

As has happened before, the focus is sh*t in this last one, but I'm too tired to come up with a clever dig at dad since I lost an hour of beauty sleep.

Umm-

Can it, mister.

i love it Cleo, ur dad and his shoe tying stool. good to see
a furry one making better use of it. we girls need a hand
now and then, i'm a bit chubby, but still young enough to
do a bit of uphill and downhill jumping. u ought to be
able to check out lunch with dad when you feel like it. Precious

I love the shot of you going up, Cleo. Good timing on Dad's
part. Lynn

Cleo
We learned early on that every single flat soft place in the house belonged to Madi and felt fortunate when she let us use one. That is a very nice bench
btw

I love your sense of humor Cleo. They should get on you about your age or weight. Not until dad does need the bench to put his shoes on.

I linked this post to Feline Friday.

Have a purrfect day and weekend. My best to your peeps. ♥

Cleo, a comment heard around Eastside Cats a lot is, 'why is the floor so low?' For us humans, a few moments of stretching one's back while on a yoga mat, or sitting on the floor petting Da Boyz, becomes a whole different ball of wax when said human tries to get up again! Needing help is becoming a reality, because the floor is just too damn low!

Cleo you let them get their exercise, that they really need, by helping you to the floor. We know that is the plan. You look great on that bench. Keep it as your own and charge a treat per shoe to use it

Hummm, I wonder what happened to the stool that was by the door for our Dad...but I digress...We love the action photos of you using the bench to get to the chair! Have a marvellously happy day!

Both Binga and Boodie were surprisingly agile at their advanced ages (i.e., older than you, Cleo, by a number of cat years!). Even though both of them had some arthritis. Boodie especially... but it didn't keep her from sunning on the dining room table when she felt like it.

You know why you can't jump back onto the bench, Cleo? I have this same problem when jumping into my stroller from the bed....Getting back on the bench or bed is a longer distance with different angles involved. Really, it's true. You can say I'm full of it but you pull out your tape measure and see what I mean.

I think you need a cushy bed on that bench so you can sleep there whenever you want, Cleo. ~Ernie

There is nothing people buy that cats can't find a way to make their own.

Cleo, my mom doesn't like to see me jumping u and down and all because I am a Rubenesque girl. She worries about my knees and hips. But I have no problem doing it. That doesn't make it a good idea is what mom said. I DO use the oak chest at the foot of our bed to get up and down though. Still I many times will just jump off the bed's edge. I jumps down are generally a couple of feet.

Our sunroom is where our front door is and there's a couch the housekeeper uses to put her shoes on. So far, we've got an easy jump. Gimme a paw five, Cleo, at least you made it up. I know, a jump down is a completely different animal!

Hi there dear Cleo! I am quite a number of years younger than you and I am very small and agile. Therefore I jump on everything. Even though I'm not allowed most of the time. My older brother can't jump very well either, so you have my sympathies. But I will do a few extra jumps just for you this week!

Cleo, we know you could totally jump back from the chair to the bench. You just don't choose to do so. Amiright?
