Meet the Neighbors & a Brief Health Update

Here's a random sampling of some of my closest neighbors.  Apologies for the poor focus in a few of them.  In at least one case (betcha can't guess) dad just wasn't comfortable getting too close.

Out on our front steps

This little guy was trekking across the rough terrain of a nearby driveway.

Yep, you guessed it.  This neighbor was literally in the lot next door.

This 3+ footer was on a neighbor's front porch

We're surrounded by these guys.  Literally.

Not a bad job blending in with the light fixture pattern, wouldn't you say?

Dad says he doesn't remember the last time he saw a brown Praying Mantis

Note: The berries are mostly in mom and dad's bellies by now.

Mom brought me in this past week to check up on a few things, and overall I'm doing okay, especially for a 17 year old.  I lost a tooth a while ago, the Vet thinks I may have an upper respiratory issue, and I've been limping a bit lately.  My bloodwork came back okay so we don't have to worry extra about my kidneys for now, and the vet thinks there may be a link between the broken tooth and the respiratory stuff.  They sent me and mom home with some antibiotics and pain medicine.  I'm sure you can imaging how THAT'S going...

Cleo, I sure hope your mom gets all this figured out for you and that you don't have to take this yucky medicine for very long. I enjoyed all the wild Critters except the bear, you can keep the bear. I like snakes and lizards so they're just handy dandy. We have blackberries here too but I really don't go near him because I always get ate up by chiggers and mosquitoes and they're just not worth it. Have a great weekend, Lynn and Precious

Oh Cleo I'm standing on top of my computer desk after seeing the snakes....
Oh guess what I discovered on the TVees last night a program on Smithsonian Channel: Smoky Mountain Rangers. All about our beautiful hills and those who work there. We'll be watching it tonight.

Thanks for the update on your vet visit. 17 OMCs you are matriarch of Blogville!! Angel Madi never had to take a pill until she was about 15....let me just say a 175 lb man could not hold down her inner lion. Since it was going to be a permanent pill, we had to have it compounded into a tasteless powder to sprinkle on her food. We used Road Runner out of Arizona. They are so very nice should should need them and quick to ship.

Cleo you poor baby!! Hoping you are feeling MUCH better! Has Mom tried wrapping you in a towel to give your meds? I used to have to do that with my Angel Bobo. I was blessed with Cody because he took meds like a champ, never had a problem with him, ever. He was such a special boy. Haven't had to give Roary meds yet (thank COD).....not sure how he will be. As for your neighbors......I would move....FAST lol

Cleo Rumpy has had a Upper respiratory for a year that dad asked about and our old vet ignored and now that the new vet gave him a long acting shot he is back to better. Those long acting antibiotics work wonders and we are not pill takers so get those. We wish you well sweet friend!

Yikes some of that nature I don't want to get close to either.

I'm glad your blood work is okay, but that tooth and the upper respiratory issue needs addressing. I know you're going to feel better soon.

Have a purrfect day and weekend, Cleo. My best to your peeps. ♥

Hoping you feel much better soon, Cleo! You have some interesting neighbors! We have some similar neighbors, fortunately they have all turned out to be non-venomous, and mostly, keeping their distance.

I hope your upper respiratory thing clears up with the meds, Cleo. It's quite possible the infected tooth could have irritated you. Is the limping arthritis related? That's something to look into - it's the sort of thing that could be nothing, or indicative of something else going on.

You have a lot of neighbours! Flynn used to keep bringing me adders (the UK's only venomous snake) then wondered why I didn't appreciate his gifts.

First off, those are some freaky critters. And MOL, you had the mom bean looking and looking at the berries looking for a critter...she thought maybe there was a bee or wasp in there.

Second, we're sure you are providing your best level of cooperation with taking those meds. MOL!

Cleo, I swear, as we get older, things start making themselves noticeable. Me with my fang (glad it's gone!) and whatever else I can complain about. I take after mommy I guess.
