An Interesting Find

Dad takes care of a large private property, and one part of his job he finds most enjoyable is clearing walking trails through the woods that surround us.
The trail where dad found the tag

One day, while digging some steps on part of a trail he'd recently cleared, a glint of sunlight caught his attention, and he pulled this veterinarian tag from the dirt.

Okay, so it's not like he discovered gold or anything, but he thought this was pretty cool considering it was out in the middle of the woods.  I'm bored now.

I'm trying here, folks, honestly.  Cleo doesn't like it when a post isn't about her, but as you can see, even though this had nothing to do with her righteous self she made her way into it.

Oh, now mom and I have to google that place! And how interesting! Visitors long ago? Must be. Didn't wing its way through the ether itself. :-) I love stuff like that, speaking as Katie's mom here. And Cleo...you look completely kissable!

Cleo, wonder how'd it look as a necklace for you? Then this post would
be about you. You're looking fabulous without decoration, though. I think
that was a great fun find for your dad.

Quite a surprise it stayed there for so long.

That is such a fun find. When Dad was little there was a big woods next to his house and there was all kinds of bottles and fun stuff in there. They said at one time there was a camp there as there was an abandoned quarry full of good swimming water. Yep, nothing like finds like this.
Cleo it may not be gold, or as cute as you are, but it is interesting to we geezers

First if all, we LOVE the pictures of you, beautiful Cleo. And we think that tag is kinda neat. Maybe there were some visitors from Okinawa who lost it?

You look lovely Cleo, but I have to say that your dad's find is very interesting. It makes me wonder how it got so far away.

I'd like a job where I had to maintain a park!
Cleo, long before any cats can to live here, our friends asked if they could use their metal detectors in our yard; the original part of our house was built around 1895, so they figured that they'd score some cool stuff!
Well, they found a lot of cut nails, and coins from the 1970's...and smashed tin cans.
Not exactly a horde of gold coins, but they had fun, and The Hubby figured the 1970's coins were from his pockets, since he was a party man back in those days...hehehehe!

Hi Cleo!

Our mom thinks that is a grand find! She used to find all kinds of things when she had the house and would actually spend time digging down in the dirt a bit for treasures. She is flush with old marbles but this place has no history to speak of. Plus, the tenets of the Secret Squirrel Club (HOA) prohibits anything fun.

We made out okay here other than some minor flooding, a little wind and a handful of tornado watches & warnings. It seems folks south and west of us got hit much harder.
