I was recently going through some of dad's old posts and found some pictures of the perch he made for Orbit. Well, let me tell you- I was livid!
"Dad," I yelled. "WTF?" I threw in, just for extra drama as I held him with the fiercest southern glare I could muster. "He got that, and I have to risk my life balancing myself on this tiny little ledge?" Boy, I was really laying into him, and by now he was quaking like a baby, eyes welling up with tears and looking around frantically for mom to protect him.
"I-I- I'm sorry, milady," he stammered. As he bowed in subservience I knew he'd had enough. "Rise at once, and stop with the sniveling!"
Okay, that never happened.
One day recently dad came home with this. He called it a prototype, and wanted to see if I'd be happy with it. Well, prototype or not, it remains.
He made it so they can close the drapes without it sticking out, and when they open the drapes it folds out so I can sit on it and enjoy the outdoors.

Cleo, we are glad your Dad finally saw that you needed a better perch and got you one.
We think it is pretty cool :)
Nice to know that the Dad is useful ;)

That is such a great perch. Good for Dad to make that for you. That is just the greatest. Lots of good window views. Have a great day.
That is a great window perch. it looks a lot like the ones D used to builf for me when we lived in hte house. I have one of those here too. Aren't they great? I would not let anyone in when your humans are gone. It is so nice that someone might steal it!!!
That really does look terrific and sure gets the job done! Now you have your own special lounging spot with a terrific view!
We like it lots - we may steal that design! It'll need strengthening though for Aila - definitely heavy duty hinges needed there. Unlike for you Cleo.
Your dad is so handy, I suggest you keep him! My dad would be sweaty just thinking about building something like that!
It's a good thing your male human came through with the perch!
Wow! We would love to have a perch/shelf like that! We don't even have a windowsill we can even try to sit on...
You are a purrty kitty, Cleo!
Glad your Dad put up a nice place for you to relax and watch the fun outside. We have two windows where our Cat-Walk goes over and we see the boids and sqwoils. Cleo, is there reach through glass?
PS
Hate to say it but you may need a small diet
Buddy was 21# when he came and was starting to limp when he would jump down. Changing to wet food with only small treats and he lost 5# and was as happy as can be. He is not the brute he was but at 16 he is still kicking
Don't hate me Cleo

What a pawsome perch, Cleo. You have the purrfect view from there.
We think your dad did an awesome job, Cleo! We too had teeny tiny window sills at our old house, and our mom did the same thing for us. OK, so maybe only Caroline remembers that now--the rest of us are all post-house cats.
Yay for Dad for making it and you getting to use it. It is perfect! I know you must be really enjoying your comfy views now. Hugs
Enjoy!

That was very nice of your Dad to make for you.
Mum bought perches years ago. Nice and wide with a soft cover. I just jump up on my perches. A few good leaps to keep my legs in shape.

I am stealing this idea . I have a big cat named Cleopatches after( my love) Patches who is no long with us. I still miss that cat every day. Cleo would love this, and hopefully keep her off the back of the sofa. But probably not. LOL
