So this is what I had to deal with before the previously mentioned perch was constructed. Though the stretching was good for me my legs didn't like supporting my pendulous paunch (can you guess who chooses the wording here?)for any longer than they had to.
Sure, I made do with what space I had. All I cared about was getting a good view outside. As you can see, my, umm, girth is a little much for the narrow sill (thanks dad), so I'm quite grateful for the extra space on my perch.
Although dad likes to poke fun at me for my size I will say that he and mom are, in fact concerned with my health, and are taking steps to get things under control.

The perch is a wonderful idea anyways Cleo!
Yeaa for a more comfier experience.
Whatever your size, a feline has a right to a comfy look out perch. We are glad your girth has been accommodated.
It is perfectly correct for your humans to manipulate the world for your betterment, Cleo! Your size just means that there is more of you for them to kowtow to! Make the most of it, like a good kitty...
You need a perch no matter what size you are. And we think you look purrfect, by the way.
We also believe you need a perch regardless of size!
A kitty needs room when sleeping or relaxing!

You totally needed that perch! Even a slim kitty would have a hard time with that tiny ledge.
You are such a beauty Cleo, and absolutely purrfect. You and Mudpie could be twins!!!
Since you're a Tortie you deserve the throne so you can look outside in comfort! I think you're purrfect in every way too! Just sayin.
