Are those even real words, dad?
They are now, says I.
Why, whatever do they mean?
They're noises you've been making lately. This is something new-ish.
I'm sorry, but I don't know what you're talking about. If you're gonna just make fun of me I'm cutting this off right now.
No, listen. You see, I'm getting up there myself and mom's not far behind, though she's a youngster to you and me. I know a thing or two about noises one makes when getting up from sitting for a while or settling in for the night. Noises one makes when getting out of bed in the morning. Y'know, anything that takes some effort. The joints just aren't what they used to be.
Well, if you're gonna make fun of me for making noises I could do a whole post about some noises you make all the time.
You got me there, old girl. I'm just saying you've been making these funny noises lately, like when you curl up next to or on mom for the night, after you look up from a snooze in annoyance, give us the evil eye & then settle back in, that kind of thing. Kind of reminds me of a balloon or a cushion deflating or something.
So I groan occasionally. You did it this morning getting out of bed. Remember- you and mom picked me over all them young'uns way back when. You knew you were getting the whole package.
I know, I know. All I'm saying is, this is something new. Way back when, you didn't make these noises, that's all. It's a new-ish thing for you, and I've gotta say- it's pretty darn amusing to mom and I. I've wanted to get a video clip or two so I could share it here 'cause it's so darn entertaining, but, well, you know- the whole timing thing with cats can be tricky.
Yeah, well you're lucky I'm not able to use that thing. I'd get footage of you walking around singing caterwauling and post it for all to hear. That's sure to draw a few laughs. Sorry for the blog detour, y'all. Someone woke a little earlier than he'd like to have (of course it had nothing to do with little ol' me) and his creativity is still snuggled all nice and warm in bed. Come on big guy, time to feed me.

That's really a rip snorting good post, Cleo. Ask your dad if he's into
that noise! I'm wondering if you've been watching a bit of foreign movies
and learned a few French or Italian words and dad doesn't speak that.
That sounds like a draw on the noise-making level. I, Queen Tama, am also beginning to get on in years, but so is #1!!!
Purrs,
Tama (and Benny who is young and knows nothing of the things)
Before Peno left this world, she liked to sleep in her scratcher in the hallway. It was right agaisnt the wall, and when she's curl up and SNORE, the noise would come through the walls of the townhouse. I'm pretty sure the neighbours could hear it too!
Oh the noises we make as we age. I'm so with you. We don't ever make fun though. We just grow old together.
Have a fabulous day and weekend, Cleo. My best to your peeps. ♥
Mol mol mol mol Cleo and Dad I am quite familiar with those noises. Dad of angel Madi insisted he did not snore. I would try to wake him up...couldn't do it. Years ago I had a cassette recorder in the bedside table door. I was gonna record him as soon as he started. As soon as I clicked it on
he woke up asked me what I was doing. Wish I had known agruntin' and agrumblin' back then.
Hugs and happy weekend. Did you get snow this week?
Cecilia
I thinks you is just em, emu, copying the old dad bean. Right? MOL!
drawer...not door. MOL
Hee! Hee! We got loads of "funny" noises here! My favorite is the one where I walk between Mom's legs and she just about falls down! (And it's NOT HBO words). Kozmo is starting to go deaf and boy has he gotten LOUD! Even when he eats he makes more noise!
There are lots of noise here too sweet Cleo. When Dad walks up or down the steps he sounds like 3-1/2 people eating snap, crackle, pop!
When Eric was here he and his dad had snoring contests. Now his dad makes enough noise for both of them!
Y'know, Cleo. I make noises sometimes too. But who cares?? ~Ernie
Getting old is no fun. How dare your Dad pick on you. I am sure you will get revenge. :) XO
Awww, it's nothing to be embarrassed about!
Tell your human it's not polite to point out that sort of thing, Cleo! ;-)
Humans are an especially noisy species even in their sleep. It is good that they snuggle well or we would throw them out of the bed.
Ooops. Maybe it's best to just wait and comment (politely) on another day ...
Cleo, pay no attention to him. My mom claims I grunt when I bathe, and she also claims I SNORE when I nap. What the paw?
~Izzy.
Cleo, it's okay. My humans make noises when they get up and down sometimes -- more than they used to. And Gracie, who was 20 when she went to the Bridge, made lots of this noises. XO - Ava
Cleo, tell your dad that Sweetie makes these weird noises at night, and I've awoken to wonder if someone is talking outside the house, and I can just hear the convo!
But nope, it's coming from Sweetie, and I don't even want to call it a snore; it's something else entirely!
Humans can be so judgemental. Purrs, Snoops and Kommando Kitty
It's tough getting old, for sure. :) I'm eight years younger than my husband and others are starting to notice his groans and moans exiting the car. lol
