And To Think It Was Only a Short While Ago...

The sun was warm, a cold beer for each

the grass was green but just out of reach

The shorts were short, the feet were bare

Farewell, to thee, oh weather fair

(Speaking of fair, I had nothing to do with this one.  Say it with me, y'all: don't quit your day job, dad)

You were looking good in the sunshine Cleo, while you had it. Will you still use your new fenced-in catio if the sun is shining? Of course the concrete might get too cold.

Those are good memories of summer. It forgot about us this year. We had good weather in April and then it rained, and rained and rained!

Great memories, it will again be warm someday. Maybe you can convince your pawrents to move somewhere warm all year 'round. We haven't managed that, but you could try.

We too mourn the loss of warmth, Cleo!
It's very windy here, and cold, and it rained ALL DAY yesterday, with only a short peek at sunshine today.
*sigh*

It's warm this afternoon, but it won't last long. I love the chilly nights though. Great sleeping weather.

We think you're like us, Cleo--who needs the heat of summer when snuggle weather is the best!

Summer weather is just a collection of old photographs now

It's close to sweater weather here too.

We feel ya, Cleo. Summer weather is definitely in our rear view mirror, too.

That's pretty good poetry. Sure you don't want to claim credit for it?

Is it fun being a torty? Do other cats envy you, and does their envy make you vain?

Yes, farewell to warm weather. Thankfully, western Oregon doesn't get cold much due to its nearness to the Pacific.

We miss the heat...it could snow here (a little bit) tonight...we are hoping that it doesn't though. We hope you and your Peeps have a marvellously happy week!

Hey, now, Cleo. I think your dad is quite talented. You are, no doubt, his muse extraordinaire. ;)

About This Blog

Created in July 2011 this blog chronicled the everyday life of a well-seasoned house panther named Orbit, who made the move with us from Massachusetts to North Carolina. He was a nearly constant companion for almost 22 years, and ruled our roost until he passed away in December 2014 which hit us like a ton of bricks.
After more than 2 years without a live-in feline friend we found this senior Tortie gal at Orange County Animal Services in Chapel Hill, NC and just couldn't leave without her. Cleo certainly came with an abundance of purrsonalitude, and has staked her claim on our hearts and in our home since day one. It took some long, deep thought, but I decided to pick up where Orbit left off and let Cleo tell her stories. Of course from time to time I'll add some non-Cleo posts, but she'll get over it.
