New Word Wednesday

Pooperoscopy [poop-er-oss-kuh-pee]

noun, Medicine/Medical.

You know what? Instead of simply giving the definition as I intended, I'll use pictures, make it a riddle of sorts.

Can you guess what dad had to do yesterday?  Let's just say he got his fill of a clear liquid diet all day Monday and Tuesday morning.  I'll spare y'all the rest of the details, but let me explain the notes.  You see, mom's a note maker, and dad's memory occasionally goes on vacation.  Plus, mom doesn't always trust dad when it comes to food, even with an impending important procedure.  Mom's always posting reminders for dad for everything from the grandkids' birthdays to medical appointments to pre-hike instructions.  She believes they're part of her full-time job taking care of me and the absent-minded professor.  So anyway, mom being mom (not only to me sometimes), she wanted to make sure dad knew what was off limits before, well, you know.  Think he got it? The notes on the fridge and most of the ones by the coffee maker are dad's "menu", and all the instructions he was to follow.

Good Golly Molly Cleo. Your mom spent a lot of time writing notes, and I'm just thinking the best thing would have been to wrap a giant chain around the refrigerator with a padlock. You kitties are lucky you don't have to go through this yucky mess. It's a new fun deal but it's what we humans do. And your dad may come up with some new words by the time this procedure is over. So don't be surprised Cleo.

I've done that prep more than once and the prep is far worse than the procedure. I'm sure mom made sure he minded. I'm guessing you helped too, Cleo.

Have a purrfect New Word Wednesday. My best to your peeps. ♥

Well that's an effective way to get the message across! Hopefully this will be all over soon, with a good result! You look cute today, Cleo!

Too funny. We'd just suggested to Brian at his blog that we all do a Cat's Word of The Day Calendar (with newly created words due to his "ottoing" today) ... now here's another new word!
All will come out well in the end, and maybe next time you'll only have to use the "handy dandy box that's delivered to your doorstep"!

That procedure, from beginning to end, is one of the weirdest that a human has to go through, Cleo!
The Hubby says he's never going to do it, and I cannot blame him one bit.
Hope the results of the test are zero, meaning nothing to see.

Your mom bean seems to like your dad bean and takes good care of him too. We're sure she doesn't let that get in the way of taking care of you.

All joking aside, we hope all goes well for your dad bean.

The mom has gone through this and says the prep is way worse than the actual procedure. Hope all goes well for your dad.

Your title caught my small attention span. TW did that once. Now she has to have scans every three months so it she has something there it'll show up w/o prep. Your poor male human.

I knew exactly what this post was about. The prep is harder then the test. Hope it went well. That was sweet of your mom. :)

Cleo OMCs do I read you loud and clear. August 9 I was on the same diet. In fact that is when my unhappy appendix was discovered. I had no idea it was in the view of the scope. But it was and lucky for me. Otherwise the useless appendage would have eventually ruptured. Good news is no more of that diet for me EVER. At my age and with 2 consecutive good reports I'm D O N E.

Oh God!! Not the dreaded colonoscopy!!! they sooo need to do something about the prep for that! Your wife is great, I like notes, but I would never make that much effort! She rocks! Hoping all went well!

LOVED reading these notes; and as a former wife with similar note posting skills I likely would have done the same. Made me smile and get my morning off with a grin.
