Lap Time!

I'm not sure what it is, but since mom and dad returned from camping it seems I've been wanting to spend a lot more time on their laps.
Mom's lap has been a somewhat regular favorite place for the most part, and dad's has been growing on me (depending on what he's wearing).  As I mentioned previously shorts and bare legs haven't been my thing, but yesterday I was in heaven.
The high temperature was "only" around 80, and mom actually brought out the fleece blanket that's usually reserved for the cooler weather.

Being from up north mom and dad, since living down here, have always shaken their heads at the southerners surrounding us with their air conditioners seemingly running nonstop from March to November.
Yesterday was a departure from the 90's we've been having lately, and they had all the windows open, fresh breezes flowing through the whole apartment all day.
Ordinarily it's not unusual, even with warmer temperatures, for mom to throw on her sweatshirt while dad is sitting next to her sweating his butt off, but yesterday even he got a little chilled.
They loved the fresh air and didn't want to shut the windows, so mom shared the fleece with dad, and once I saw that I couldn't get enough lap time.
I can't wait until the real cool weather comes.  I know where I'll be spending most of my time!

Boy, there is nothing like a fleece blankie! Even of it is for the pawrents, WE get to share. So soft and warm. I can almost feel it now. xxx

We also love the joy of a snuggly fleece blanket - and strangely Mesi and Jaava (our torties) have been snuggling on laps too. Is something in the air?

You look very comfy and cosy on the fleece. I wish we could get nearer to 80. The past 2 weeks the temperature has struggled to reach 60.

I saw your comment on my blog and stopped by to see what was up, and boy, did I have a lot of catching up to do! Cleo is a gorgeous girl and I see she's making herself comfy in your home.

My Mom & Dad are like yours....Mom says they are "thermally incompatible". Dad would never turn on the heat, even during our cold winters, and Mom would prefer the a/c be turned up to 80 in the summer while Dad would die of heat stroke!

I'm rarely a lap kitty, but fleecy blankets in the winter are wonderful to snuggle up in. And if Mom happens to be under one, I'll amuse her and climb on.

About This Blog

Created in July 2011 this blog chronicled the everyday life of a well-seasoned house panther named Orbit, who made the move with us from Massachusetts to North Carolina. He was a nearly constant companion for almost 22 years, and ruled our roost until he passed away in December 2014 which hit us like a ton of bricks.
After more than 2 years without a live-in feline friend we found this senior Tortie gal at Orange County Animal Services in Chapel Hill, NC and just couldn't leave without her. Cleo certainly came with an abundance of purrsonalitude, and has staked her claim on our hearts and in our home since day one. It took some long, deep thought, but I decided to pick up where Orbit left off and let Cleo tell her stories. Of course from time to time I'll add some non-Cleo posts, but she'll get over it.
