Happy Holidays to All

Warmest holiday greetings from me, mom, dad and whoever this guy is.

You know, it's bad enough dad occasionally gives his attention to the boss's pooch, but this is a whole other level. As it is, dad will be spending the week between Christmas and New Year's Eve with the slobbering, thinks-he's-a-lapdog 140-pound mutt, thereby depriving me of his love, attention and servitude. Anyway, a couple of weekends ago, mom and dad were driving home from somewhere and as they whizzed past a local florist shop/garden center, dad said, "Oh look, a camel." Well, of course, mom, ever the child, shouted, "Ooohh, I wanna see the camel, I wanna pet the camel!" Dad turned the car around, pulled into the garden center and parked, and was barely able to restrain mom as they braved the icy breeze and headed toward mom's new BFF for the day. There were chickens, goats, rabbits, and a llama, and, of course, the target of mom's barely controlled giddiness.

Here's an outtake, and I've gotta add that dad often takes liberties with his descriptions of mom's, umm, youthfulness, let's call it. I've been around them long enough now to confirm that it actually balances out his ever-increasing crotchety old man-ness.

So yeah, Merry Christmas to all, and may this holiday season be filled with all the warmth and joy you can handle.

Merry Christmas to you and your mom and dad, Smudge! That is a fun photo of your mom with the camel, and the outtake too.

A camel, now there's a new way for Santa Claus to have someone pull his sleigh. I guess he needs that one he's visiting the desert. Let's just hope your mommy does not get on that Camel and right away! We wish all three of you the very best Christmas and New Year there could be. We so enjoy having you stop by and we love seeing what you post for us Smudge.

Well heck, Smudge...some of us do NOT see camels EVER in the fur, if you know what I mean, so I'm right there with you meowmy.

Those camel pics are funny, Smudge! Sorry you're going to be deprived of your Dad over the holidays, but we too are looking to #1 vanishing for a few days over the New Year holidays. That's humans for you!

Wow, a Christmas camel? That's pretty cool, Smudge, though it pales in comparison to you and your mom. Wishing you, and Mom and Dad, a Christmas that's peaceful and restorative. XO

We’ve seen llamas and alpacas…there’s actually an alpaca farm here on our island. But never seen a camel! Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!

A blessed and beautiful Merry Christmas to you and yours, including the slobbery pooch and camel.

Your Dad's boss sounds like my Sweetie's Big Boss. "Of course, you want to be with my dog for Christmas week instead of with your family!"

When you're young it's mostly fun. When you're old you make fun to stay young (though it doesn't always work). So, chill a bit Smudge-y girl ... besides, that camel-kid gots no antlers so is no threat to Christmas (well, sorry for some maybe, another story another day) ... as for that "dog", your old man eventually comes home ... to you ... right? So, all is good in the world, your world. Get your murder mittens ready to welcome him back, it's the least you can do. Make Merry and here's to a better new year, ha!
