Anyway, enough about mom and dad and that ugly foot. This post was really supposed to be a simple reminder to take advantage of sunpuddles and enjoy some relaxation and peace & quiet, especially in the face of all the stupidity and craziness that seems to be worsening everywhere right now. So, yeah-

Vacation and Feet and Sunpuddles & Stuff
So mom and dad finally got their staycation week before dad's job gets crazy with big upcoming projects, and they decided to keep it close and simple so they didn't have to worry about leaving me for too long. I won't bore you with all the details, but they walked the Cape May, NJ beach one day, hiked in the Poconos another, and spent several days knocking off miles and miles of walks along both sides of the Delaware River Canal Towpath, which cuts right through New Hope. All that walking is good for them, but it seems to have taken a toll on dad's right ankle, seen here hogging a bit too much of my footrest space.

Smudge you are definitely right about the blog says supposed to be about you. Precious says that I hijack hers all the time. I just hope your mom and dad had warm weather and sunshine when they did all that walking. For the last two weeks here I've been wearing hat coat and gloves again. I don't know if we're ever going to have spring, the flowers keep blooming. But there's no heat in the air. It'll probably just go straight into August weather and then I'll be miserable. You look perfectly comfortable in the sunshine and that's the way it's supposed to be.
I am glad your mom and dad had a good staycation, and hope your dad's ankle is soon better.
Of course you are right about enjoying the sun puddles and relaxing. Every day when you think it can't get worse, we hear more craziness on the TV!
Enjoy your sunpuddle, Smudge.
Yes, the blog is supposed to be about YOU. And didn't someone say that the only true refuge from all the craziness of this world was Cats (and Mewsic)? Or words to that effect...
Looks like dad did a bit to much on his staycation. It happens.
You are doing it right, Smudge.
Have a purrfect day and week. ♥
You are wise, Smudge!

I swear, aside from the blog itself, Smudge, I got very ticked also at several of the comments. Gidget just got mom hee- hawing again too.
Smudge if only the humans would heed advice from our furry family.....stay in soak up the Vit C. Sure way to avoid a twisted ankle. YIKES i hope it is better by his busy days. I SWEAR by
SalonPas Patches...I love them. I once twisted my ankle the weekend before a big conference at work. I just knew I'd be hobbling by
Monday but low and behold it was manageable and I kept SalonPas patch on it each day.
Hugs Cecilia
You know what is important. :) Looks like your dad did too much walking. XO
Chaplin: "You can't go wrong with a sunpuddle, Smudge. Your Dad should stick his ankle in one for a little while and it'll be right as rain. Of course it can't be a sunpuddle that YOU'RE trying to use because that one's yours."
You look very calm and relaxed! Now you need to hold your dad down for awhile.
Smudge, thanks for explaining what dad's foot and ankle were doing in that first photo, because yes. This blog is supposed to be all about you, right? Thanks for the reminder (nice photos of you!) to take advantage of the sunpuddles and to get some relaxation. These are crazy times, indeed.
P.S. - we hope Dad's ankle feels better soon.
Relax when you can is right, the older I get the more I realize you should never pass up the opportunity to take a nap or use the facilities.
Looking good in the sun. Time to shed some of that fur~
I'm sorry about your dad's pain. Take care of him, adorable Smudge.
