Nip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah

A while ago, mom felt my nip mat that Miss Ellen made me needed to be washed.

I didn't think anything was wrong with it and couldn't understand why it needed laundering.

It had my own personal scent all over it, and
I thought the purpose was to allow L’odeur de l’herbe à chat to permeate the fabric for my pleasure.

I've never really been one for catnip except on rare occasions, but I do lay on the mat often, especially since it's in the front window upstairs.

So, mom opened up the outer fabric and removed the scented pad inside, but before she could throw the outer cover in the washing machine I got the urge to partake of the stronger scent of the inner liner and went to town on it.

So like I said, this was a while ago, and since then my furs have once again covered the top side, which, I feel, is how it should be.

Now, I know we felines don't all experience the same sensations while under the influence, but dad did his best with this new background after I described to him one of my hallucinations. Pretty trippy, no?

Smudge, it looks like you are rolling in the dough today. And the dough being some nippy. I like to have a fresh piece of leaf every morning off my personal plant. And then if Lynn puts down some silver Vine on one of my little towels I just roll around like a maniac. We're glad to see that your mommy is working hard to keep everything perfectly clean but you are managing to get in a little fun when her back is turned we love your psychedelic Banner this morning. I am glad you used the psychedelic background. I often wondered what Flynn was seeing when he went googly eyed! Good work on furring up your mat again.

Humans seem highly deficient when it comes to smell appreciation. They should not interfere with ours!

Turn on, tune in, drop out Smudge!

Smudge, you will soon get your own purrsonal scent back on that mat, to mingle with the cat nip, thus creating a purr-sonalised aroma to suit your own requirements.

Charlee: "The new border is pretty funky, Smudge! Our Dada says he can almost hear the 60s music playing in the background!"
Lulu: "Dada decided he had to wash my bedding last week. I was forced to lie on a different bed while the cover was in the wash, and now all my lovely accumulated furs are gone from it. So sad."

Wow, that liner must smell super awesome, Smudge. Good job furring it up, too. Dad did a good job with the background. Trippy!

Maybe you just needed fresh nip in there, not a thorough washing. Then again, there is sanitation to think about.

They shouldn't have named you Smudge if they didn't want you smudge things up. I think efurrything you have done is purrfectly acceptable. You're a cat, and cats love smelly stuff.

It looks like you had a great time Smudge. Saku isn't a huge fan of the 'nip but every once in awhile he'll play with a catnip toy.

Auntie Ellen is one of the greatest, isn't she? Don't tell Polly Anna Esther Dactyl I shared this, but this kitty is usually too lazy for play. Today, however, one of Miss Ellen's toys inspired her inner panther. lol Be well!
