We all like to explore, am I right? Our home provides some places for me to check out when I get really bored (which seems to be often). Until mom went and moved some stuff around to make it more difficult, one of my favorites was the second shelf up from the floor on this bookshelf in the living room.
Now that things have been rearranged, I'm forced to make do with the bottom-most one, which is fine, I guess, considering they probably don't want me jumping any more than I need to (what with your advanced age, dear girl).
Says the one with more and more white furs sticking out of his head & face...
Update: Well, now they've gone and done it. Even my bottom shelf spot has been taken. Mom and dad have been on a puzzle thing again, and mom recently found some at the Good Stuff Thrift store up the road in Buckingham, where proceeds go to helping kids in need in the community.
Mom and dad enjoy simple, old-fashioned and inexpensive fun, like jigsaw puzzles, Yahtzee and Dice (mom's wicked competitive, and both can be sore losers), and this is how they spend most evenings.

Smudge, I would say they're at home game activity gives you plenty to keep an eye on. How about sticking up all up and grabbing a domino or a puzzle piece when they're not looking. Good luck finding another place to lay down for a while that's kind of fun for you.

Smudge it is good you are around to referee the staff with their games. QUESTION: do you ever try to help then with puzzles by rearranging the pieces or hiding pieces?

Chaplin: "Oh man I would love it if our Mama and Dada would play dice games or board games every night."
Lulu: "Because ... ?"
Chaplin: "I would totally knock the dice and the game pieces all over creation."
Oona: "And Oona would help!"
Chaplin: "I wouldn't really need the help, I can do it all on my—"
Oona: "OONA SAID SHE WOULD HELP!!!"
We know they would love it if you helped with those puzzles!
Puzzles are light, you can move them out of your way. :) XO
You know what to do Smudge. When they are doing those puzzles show them you can still jump up, and oops, you landed on the pieces and they went everywhere.
I have to say my mom loved all of these comments! I am saving them to remember when she tries a puzzle. Mom may like me on the shelf better than my help...we can see what happens!
Push that sh*t off the shelves, Smudge!
Well, Smudge, we think you could easily shove that center puzzle out on the floor and make a little space for yourself. We never let crowded spaces keep us from worming our way in. When someone is putting together a puzzle be sure to sit in the middle of it and roll around. No more puzzles here!
Maybe stuff is being moved around to give ya new places ta explore. Thats what TBT says when he moves stuff around.
Smudge, remember you are a Cat! If they put something on YOUR shelf (or any shelf, for that matter) - just push it off!
If you start pushing those things off your shelf, hopefully they'll learn to leave you some space. But beans tend to be slow learners so it's hard to know if they will. You may have to push stuff over and over and over again. MOL!
Smudge, this is not only puzzling but unacceptable! Your shelf space should be sacred!

Those shelves suit you. I think you could nudge a few of those puzzle boxes out of your way. And it would be thoughtful if your humans put a soft cat blanket in there for you.
Just keep an eye on them. Your parents seem like troublemakers. lol Hugs to you and yours.
