Getting a Jump On It

Mom and dad have always liked to splutter and blitch about premature holiday decorating no matter where they've lived. It seems each year it gets earlier and earlier that some people put up their Christmas, Thanksgiving and Halloween yard adornments just a bit too early, am I right? And don't even get dad going on his opinion of those obnoxious oversized inflatables (no offense to anyone). So mom and dad were recently strolling down the sidewalk over in Allentown, NJ when they came upon a house with this festive display in the front yard-

Mom had recently seen a similar photo somewhere, and they thought it was hilarious to see this one up close and in person.

Here's hoping everyone's Thanksgiving Day is as safe, warm and pleasant as it can be, and be careful if you're in the path of that storm system that's a-brewing.

LOL, love it! We don't put decorations up until Christmas Eve and they come down on Twelfth Night. When the boys were still here we used to put the tree up a week earlier for them. Eric loved to whap the balls off the bottom.

That is funny! We agree that people are putting up decorations, and shops are selling festive stuff, far too early these days. We never put our tree and other Christmas decorations up until mid-December!

I'm like you I like to have one holiday at one time with only one kind of decorating. This picture really makes me laugh thanks around here house is put up those giant inflatable whatchamacallits, and I'm sure the children on the school bus think they're fun. But I think otherwise. Hope you guys have a nice Thanksgiving in your new home. And Smudge, and you get a piece of turkey or ham or whatever else your mom and dad might be cooking up.

Smudge I 10000% agree with Mom and Dad.
Why in the world don't folks just enjoy the moment...it all passes so quickly.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Bryan and I are going to Angus Barn for T'giving. This will be our 5th year.
Christmas we are going to visit our daughter and son in law and their 3 kitties. Yep they recently adopted a 6 month old from Island Rescue. Harper is dark gray and white with adorable white paws.
Oh I just saw on the TVeees that Hallmark has a Christmas movie coming up in the next week or so. It was filmed at Biltmore. I will DVR to watch several times. I've seen some trailers. We've been there several times at Christmas truly breathtaking

Happy Thanksgiving to you Smudge and your beans.

Mom bean isn't a fan of the inflatables but she'd make an exception for that one. MOL!

I must admit to keeping Halloween decorations up all year. ~hangs head~ But it makes my husband and I happy while the neighbors have never complained about the little pieces left outside (thank heaven). In fact, I realized today that my haunted dollhouse is located where my Christmas tree traditionally stands. lol Happy Thanksgiving!

We agree. So TBT has decided to wait until Dec 10 to turn on the house lights. But he WILL add this new weird white wreath he just bought to the front of the car tomorrow.
