Goodness me, we're a bit behind.
I know that mom and dad have moved a time or two (or three or four) over the years, and although I've heard them discussing many times how settled they've gotten here in the Asheville area since before I adopted them and how much they love the western North Carolina mountains, we're currently in the midst of an adventure (not a term mom, especially, would use). Some of my favorite hiding spots disappeared and there were stacks of boxes everywhere.
My coffee table went MIA, the futon vanished, the sofa went missing and the house pretty well emptied out. I'd overheard conversations-some excited chatter, others negative and loaded with cursing- about the property finally selling. You see, dad is the caretaker for a sprawling private mountainside residential estate that'd been on the market for quite a while, and our house is part of the estate. When dad's employer decide to relocate and asked dad if he'd be willing to stay with them he was initially hesitant because he and mom had grown to love this area. However, after some discussion, they decided that it made sense to stay with dad's employer since they've been so good to mom and dad since he started working for them in the summer of 2020 (yes, well into the early phase of the pandemic!) So our home away from home away from home mentioned in the previous post was something referred to as an AirBnb, which we've since vacated. Let me just say, the term "Superhost" Doesn't mean the home is clean, odor-free and safe, and I'll just leave it at that. We're now coming to you from replacement temporary quarters in Asheville, and it's looking like we'll be moving north to more permanent temporary housing within the coming weeks. I think. Confusing, I know. At least I have some of my comforts from what used to be our home, and I'm learning to relax in some new favorite spots while we're here.

Smudge, it's your job to keep your pawrents spirts up during this turmoil, so don't forget to act kooky and hide on them once in awhile so they have to play hide-and-seek!
Smudge....OMCs you are about to take a big adventure!!
WOW I guess you'll be meowing with a bit of a northern accent before long. I send Mom, Dad and you big wishes for a wonderful move. I know you will be happy as long as you are with them.

Chaplin: "Hey our Mama and Dada almost moved to Asheville before they decided to move to California instead. You could've been our neighbors!"
Charlee: "Well, not OUR neighbors, unless Mama and Dada could've somehow adopted us from California while living in Asheville ..."
Oh Smudge! That does sound like a bit of a palaver, but, as they say, home is where the heart is!
Purrs,
The Chans
Wherever you may go ... we hope it will be a happy place for all. Just be sure once the boxes are unpacked and your food bowl in place that you come back "HERE" to visit us.
OK? OK!
Well, adventure is one way to put it. lol If I had the financial means to move, I'd choose North Carolina. ~grin~ Stay safe and comfy!
My goodness, that sounds like quite the adventure, it will all work out sweet Smudge, your Mom and Dad will be there to help you adjust!
That sounds very stressful for all. I hope you are all settled soon. XO
Thank Cod for boxes Smudge, 'cuz that sounds like quite the adventure. I sure hope your beans find their furever home soon.
Well, wherever you end up, you will still have yer Mom & Dad and a new place ta explore!
Mom said she would not be a good nor happy camper if she had to uproot like that. But most folks are far better than she is at moving. You all going up North?
Smudge I have a very dear friend who lives in Cooperstown, PA. I think western PA. She was a blogger with two mini Dachshunds, Frankie and Ernie and I actually met them in the skin and furs in 2016.
Hugs and happy weekend
Cecilia
How do you cope, Smudge? All those changes are hard to deal with. I admire your adventurous spirit. We cats have a huge job in keeping our humans centred.
Ithink your doing really well under the circumstances looks like you are getting used to it now and relaxing heheh!
Have a smudgetastic weekend ๐
Smudge, we are sorry things are kinda topsy-turvy right now. The good part, though, is that you, Mom, and Dad are together wherever you end up. Hugs and purrs.
One thing about frequent moves... you always have new places to explore ;)
Still, one place is kinda nice also.
Yup, as long as you are all together!
Purrs, Julie
Oh my, that is quite an adventure!
Well, Smudge - at least you've got lots of boxes!
Will you please ask your dad to share his opinion on the film 'Haunted Mansion'? ~grin~ After 'Sound of Freedom' I could use something light. Hugs, my dear.
Dear Smudge, I went through that chaos three years ago when we moved to FloryDa. Sadly, I overheard conversation that we will be uprooting again for another move. Someplace not as hot as FloryDa. Wishing yoo the best in Asheville. Love, Dori
Moving is so stressful! Get the humans to break out the catnip. Sure helps, doesn't it?
oh my goodness!! Poor Dad, Mom and YOU!!! It seems as if they made the right decision but yep....moving is a major pain in the butt!
