Christmas in September
One recent Thursday mom and dad spent the afternoon downtown as they do now and then, and while strolling down Market Street towards the riverfront they encountered a film crew setting up for some scenes for the Hallmark Channel's upcoming "USS Christmas",
which has been filming in various locations around the city.
After doing some shopping (while wearing masks and keeping their distance from others, of course) they stopped for a couple of local brews at Ironclad and Front Street breweries, then headed to the Copper Penny for an outdoor lunch. The filming is ongoing, and from what we've heard the movie should be released at the end of November. Snow scenes downtown were supposed to be filmed this week, which would've been cool to have photos of. Oh well. Nice job, dad.

Cleo...please thank your parental units for taking a stroll and sharing photos. I am addicted to Hallmark Movies...such wholesome watching, fun and pretty scenery. I saw in the N&O that Hallmark was filming in several NC locations. WooHoo
Hugs Cecilia
PS glad to hear about the 'snow' scenes. That always cracks me up 'cause we here in NC know....snow....is rare there. Wonder if they have ever considered filming a hurry-cane movie
We'll be on the lookout for that movie sweet Cleo, we watch those Christmas movies lots!
What fun!
We'd had a movie filmed around our town, and it was interesting to hear gunfire, knowing it was fake!
That must have been fun to see.
The battle scenes from the mid 80s film Revolution were filmed on Dartmoor near me. I used to ride my horse up every day to try and get close enough to watch and got a wave from Donald Sutherland. At least I think it was wave, it did look like his complete hand!!
Hiya Cleo, what a fab adventure your parents had, ohhhhh we love Hallmark movies!!! MOL
Have a supurr weekend! XOX
It's always neat to see your city in a movie or show. Large parts of The Umbrella Academy were shot in our city. It's wild.
How fun. Christmas is great anytime of the year. I've never seen a movie set in action. Even more fun.
Have a fabulous weekend. 😎
We must say your parents sure know how to have fun. Looks like you live in a really fun town too. Just make sure you get enough attention Cleo. When they go out too much we have to put our paws down, on a soft bit if they need it!
That must have been fun to see!
That's really cool!
Hey Cleo, give us a month or two and we can send you some of the white stuff for real! What's that mom bean? It won't make it 'cuz it will melt? Well, that sucks. Sorry Cleo, we woulda tried. MOL!
That is so cool. They should sign up to be extras. I was an extra when Mel Gibson's Edge of Darkness filmed 45 minutes away from me.
What a great walk about! Does this mean your pawrents are going to bes paw-pawratzzi?
And it would has been really cool if they did get photos of the snow scenes. Maybe next time!

We'll definitely watch this movie, maybe your peeps will be caught in the background, who knows?
How cool that you got to see a movie being made!
So cool that your city is the scene for a movie.
Even better when the snow is fake ;)

Sounds like a very nice day out. Did they bring you any goodies, Cleo? If so, all should be forgiven on your dad missing out on the snow scenes. :)

Well that was a very cool post! It's funny you mention Christmas cause my Human took a "Christmas in September" picture on her walk this morning. You have a better explanation though!
What a fun to come across filming! Your familiar sceneries will be on the movie. It adds extra fun to watch that movie :-)
