Disclaimer: For those who think dad's being rough or doesn't know how to hold or care for a cat- he does and has for all his 41 trillion years. He tries. It's me.
Oh Dear Cleo You and angel Madi musta been kissin' cuzzins. She never liked to be held NEVER!! She was 360 degrees different from Milky-way who loved snuggling and sitting in laps. I totally identify with Dad's efforts and as far as I'm concerned those are loving arms and hands. As long as that fine furry feline fanny is supported all is good. Hugs Cecilia
Yeah....I know, Cleo. My cats don't like to be held unless it's THEIR idea.... and don't want to be carried around AT ALL!! Sometimes Watson likes to take a short ride on the seat of my walker.....now that she's finally getting used to it (and, unfortunately, so am I).
Cleo, our mum is a big snuggler too. Like you I tolerate cuddles for a bit. Maybe it's a Tortie thing. Or maybe an older Tortie thing ( I am 16) ;) Julie loves the cuddles. Sheesh! Purrs,Georgia and Julie
My husband taught me the best way to hold a cat when our dearly departed Luna first adopted us. :) But no matter how well I support Jezebel's tummy and let her pick the position of her legs, she doesn't tolerate being held for long, not even if I walk from window to window. But she spent a good while on my lap this afternoon! I call that a win.
Meanwhile, that scene from "The Thing" is one of my favorites, too. ~nods~ Since there's not a lot of swearing in the movie script, certainly nothing gratuitous, the character's quip at seeing the horrific creature is perfect. ~grin~ And if Dad has the time, Cleo, he needs to watch the quintissenteal documentary (link below). It's amazing. Merry Christmas!

I'm with you, Cleo! I don't much go for being held either, whereas Genji would happily be carried around by #1 all day!
Purrs,
Tama
Shoot, I knew that all along! Cut him some slack, Cleo. Wouldn't kill ya.

Oh, Cleo! We humans just cannot help smooching and hugging the kitties in our lives, whether they want it or not!
I know it's not your fault Cleo, you're just so hard to resist!
Our Saku was much like that when he was younger. Since he's been 10 or so (he's 11 now), he's become a mom suck and spends lots of time on her lap.
So maybe you'll get to like it Cleo!
Awww..you are so cute. XO
It's okay, Cleo - even I'm not that much into the being held thing. I prefer to have some control over the cuddling.
Hey, a girl gets to set her parameters! And you get to do it with your pointy ends.
Aww go on Cleo, let your dad give you a kiss and cuddle. It makes us humans happy.
It seems like your dad has you cradled pretty securely. At least you didn't scratch your way out of his loving clutches!
Cleo, I am the same way. I do not like to be held though the peeps try. I just fight them. ~Ernie
Awww, he just wants to show you how much he loves you! Who could resist...you look so cuddly!!!

Cleo, we are the same way. Our mom claims previous cats LOVED to be cradled but we don't believe on word of it. We remain champion squirmers.

Pixie is with you, Cleo ! She doesn't like being held or carried. On the contrary, I love it ! Purrs, Zorro
I know what you mean Cleo. I NEVER allow holding. But I will climb up on top of Dad now and then
I don't like strangers picking me up. I can remember those who do for many years.
