Meowteorologist Report

So one afternoon about a week after Hurricane Dorian blew through here dad got another tornado alert on his phone.  The alert eventually lapsed, but for about 20 minutes or so this is what the sky looked like overhead.  The still photos don't do it justice, but these clouds were swirling and looping like mad, prompting mom and dad to stack my carrier and some blankets near the bathroom.  Apparently our plan is to hunker down in the bathtub in the event of a tornado.

Now flash forward a couple of weeks and here I am on a much cooler early morning with the old comfy fleece on the old comfy dadlap.
I know to some of you, temps in the upper 50's and 60's isn't cold, but for this trio of southern old farts (mom's technically not an old fart yet as she's about 12 years dad's junior) and compared to the past few months that's cold-ish.  I've also been cuddling more with mom and dad in bed and on the chairs with the onset of cooler temps, so we're all loving it.

Those clouds look very ominous. I am glad the tornado alert came to nothing.
The weather here at midday today is 67 which is more like our midsummer temperature, and quite a bit warmer than usual for the time of year.

You all are safe and that's what matters to me! XX Those clouds look like they mean business Cleo. Ugh. Hey. mom and I loved your idea of a wood chipper in your comment to us re: the "game".

Cleo your parental units were very proactive and I would have been with Diva Madi. Ironically one day years ago we had a similar weather situation.
I had prepared. Went looking for Madi. Lo and behold she was hunkered down beside the throne in the 1/2 bath (interior room).
Those chilly mornings were much appreciated (as long as one had a jacket) after the horrible 3 H's
Those are some fierce clouds.

Wow all you needed was a Witch on a bicycle!!! "Skerry" clouds for sure! We like 50s and 60s and even if Mom grew up in Pittsburgh and Ohio, the 50s are nice and chilly for her too!

I love to watch clouds, especially storm clouds. Of course, it's not fun when there can be bad weather. Today, we have hots and humids, but I lurv to walk around in bare feet!

Those clouds do look scary and we are glad you did not suffer Dorian's fury.
We did lose power for almost a week, but we went with mum to her sister's place and were very comfy as they did not lose power :)
While we live farther north(Nova Scotia) 40-60 is coolish and we have had even cooler evenings. We have already had the furnace on a few times! Lucky for us mum does not like to be cold ;) MOL!

I hope you never get a tornado. Glad you are keeping warm.

That tornado warning sounds like it was really scary! We live in southern California, so 50s and 60s temperatures are definitely cold here too.

I'm glad you're safe!

Also, I like the teapot look. That's what we used to call old Tilly when Jezebel moved in years ago. In her youth she hissed like a kettle at the younger cat.

And licking raindrops off patio furniture? That's a new one. ~grin~ Why not?

Our mom was in NC when she heard for the first time ever an EAS over the radio, and she just about had a bird. A tornado didn't cross her mind, she thought of a nuclear attack! (Well, she is an old bat and was schooled in the ever-present danger of the Soviets annihilating us all.)

Glad you didn't have to crawl into the tub after all.
