Mom and dad are getting out and about more, which means I'm getting left behind more. They finally made it down to Fort Fisher Beach, their favorite beach spot, even though it's still too cold for swimming right now.

Don't worry, mom and dad, I'm sure it'll still be there when you're ready to squeeze slip into your swimsuits.

During several recent trips they came across some pretty cool stuff. They drove around to explore changes since they left Wilmington, and while driving by the Independence Mall found this spring carnival in full swing one chilly night.
And the other night while returning from dinner they decided to stop at Greenfield Lake, where they used to love to walk. They entered the park and found lighting crews getting ready to film some scenes for Swamp Thing.
Though the above photo looks like the sunset it's actually one of these mega tall floodlights hovering over the trees around the lake.
Dad's been on call for work 24/7 since moving back so they can't go far or be gone too long, but hopefully he'll get a break soon so they can really relax and take the time to enjoy downtown Wilmington to see what's changed, check out the riverfront, grab a beer and a bite, etc.

I have not been to Wilmington or Fort Fisher in years. As I recall they are both beautiful and your photos proved that.

Glad to know that I'm not the only one who gets weird stuff with Blogger! Sometimes I can make the spaces between photos very small, and other times they are all a different size, and I cannot fix it! Cleo, maybe your peeps should bring home a bucket of sand for you to...er, um...'play' in?
Hi Cleo. That box is when you put a comment on a photo. If you highlight the text and then you can change its size. That is "normal." Yeah, I know, normal means nothing but a reminder that things "Normally" are too small like bags of treats, pieces of chick-hen, etc.

Cleo, we hate to see your dad suffer with your blog. After all, it's your blog and should be all about you, so we put together an quick fix he can try. Tell him to watch for an email.

Wow, that's a long boardwalk. Looks like a beautiful area to enjoy an outing.
I know mom would LOVE walking on the boardwalk! And as Mom saw the Screen Gems inscribed on the equipment, she heard in her mind the announcement one hears on TV sometimes " This has been a Screen Gems Presentation"! Talk about having heard something a lot!!! See the words and the announcement comes straight back...man's voice and all.
