Summer's here, and that brings a few subtle changes in our home (besides mom not being wrapped up in the fleece all the time). Ordinarily, as you may have seen in some previous posts, I like to relax on dad's lap while he sits in the ridiculously early morning hours reading and sipping guzzling his coffee. With the warmer weather, though, I've developed different habits. I've taken to a spot on the floor close to the front door where I prefer to lounge, just behind the chair dad sits in. There, in the foreground you'll see dad's favorite Orbit mug and the novel he's currently reading, and you'll notice a travel mug as well. Dad, out of nothing more than thinking about little old me, has been pouring both cups of coffee every morning, with the thinking that he won't have to get up quite as often for refills (sure, that's what he's thinking. What's next, intravenous caffeine?). This way, he says, he won't disturb me when I do curl up on his lap. Isn't he just the most thoughtful? Dad snapped this silly one first thing this morning when he saw me rolling around like I do in what they call my adorable pose. I know it's a little hard to see me, but check out those glowing orbs.

You dad is very considerate, Cleo! We have different summer habits too. We also like to lounge on the floor--it's cooler!
I wish my human thought things through like that.
Aww, Cleo...you've got your dad wrapped around your paw! The Hubby couldn't sit still for two cups of coffee; weak bladder, ya know. But he does love his coffee: hot as lava, black as sin, and bitter tasting. Yuck...
Wow, your dad is so thoughtful! He is such a good cat dad!
I love your super adorable pose :-)
I see your lasers for sure! catchatwithcarenandcody
We have different summer routines too. No more sleeping on the bed with our humans. Now we like to sleep by the windows.
That really does make lap time special!
Your Dad is clever- 2 mugs of coffee. I make my hubby bring me more :)
Adorable! And that's clever. Sad to say, caffeine doesn't agree with me these days. Oh, well. Thanks for the kind word on my blog. The chard we planted is called rainbow chard for those multi-colored stems on the plants. On that note, I harvested a bunch this morning and need to get inside and cook. It's more fun enjoying my back patio with a fan and laptop. To be fair, I have laundry drying in the next room. Heh... Be well!
Good idea to have the second coffee ready to go. Cleo, that is one cute pose. You all have a fantastic Sunday.
Our #1 is not a big coffee drinker, but she does like her tea! Preferably single estate Darjeeling or Lapsang Souchong.
Thank you for your nice comment on our post today!
Purrs,
The Chans

Hugs madi your bfff
That's so thoughtful of your dad ! Purrs
Being a "puddle of darkness" myself, I can see you just fine. I'm not sure I'd believe your Dad's justification for filling two coffee cups, but as long as it benefits you, it's best to play along.
My stars, your training is really paying off! We are most impressed.
My goodness. WHO rules? YOU do. (I do over here too).
Your dad is so clever! I miss cuddle time with Mudpie during the summer :(
Our house is 72 degrees in daytime and 68 at night all year round. TBT just likes that and we adjust. Which is why we love lounging on the deck in hot weather and getting unner the covers on the heated waterbed at night. We think 80 is what we really want.
And TBT drinks green tea in the morning and Oolong at dinner. He never got used to coffee. Beings are strange.
