Help!

I'm not calling "child abuse" quite yet, especially after getting painted in a fun spirited, positive light the way dad's last post did.  However, I want word to get out about a situation we've had here.

My wardens, aka mom and dad, have taken to forcing me to work for my meals, and I won't stand for it any more.  I hate to expose you for the monsters you are, mom and dad, but people need to see what you put me through just to get my food.

Yeah, yeah, I know you've been working hard to get me to shed some pounds, but come on, do you have to be so mean about it?

No more, I say. As you can see, I'm being forced to exercise before they'll put my food down.  That's right, they make me run around the living room prior to setting my food down instead of being the loving, appreciative parents they should be and just giving me what's due.

This is bordering on torture, and I demand it stops!

Dad note:  Cleo caught on to us a short while ago and this abusive practice has ceased.  After a while instead of continuing to chase us around the room she'd simply run right to where we put her dishes and sit there and watch us try and try, most likely laughing inside as we whistle and taunt her.  For the record, we only ran around with her chasing us 5 or 6 times before setting her dish down.  Honestly.

Yeah, our mom tried that trick with the tub Izzy, too, Cleo. That lasted about 2 minutes. Parents can be so remarkably misguided sometimes.

MOL! Check out what goes on in our home! I never get treats "just because" - I always have to work for them. And Boodie and I have to sit up before we get breakfast too! So you don't get a lot of sympathy here.

P.S. If my human made us chase her for our meals, we would probably continue to do it... just because we are pretty routine-driven around here!

THANK COD they stopped doing it! Think about this...wouldn't it make sense for them to exercise you AFTER you eat so you can burn calories? What nincompoops exercise you BEFORE you eat so you can eat the calories right back? Glad at least ONE of you has 4 legs fur and is smart! Love, Cody catchatwithcarenandcody

Oh the horror of it! It is almost as if they were trying to make you hunt down your meals.

Cleo...that didn't take long at ALL! Show THEM who is the one who reigns. Our parents are always thinking of things like that. Mom left very little kibble for over night. SO! after three nights of that, I hogged my breakfast down in one bite..horked it up and said "THERE"!!

No ham? That is truly unfair.

I hope Santa has been watching them!

Be thankful you put an end to that foolishness by outsmarting them and watching them run around with your food while they ran around like goofs. Hopefully, they won't get any other "smart" ideas like making you play fetch for your food.

Oh Cleo! Humans just have all of these weird ideas. It's good that you showed them the error of their ways!

You're all right- I think I'm finally getting the hang of how to make them think they're in charge here. Oh, if they only knew... (gotta go- dad's coming)
