The move was quick, and the new place is nice. There is a story that goes along with that, but I'll spare you. Let's just say that mom had to do a BUNCH of cleaning, and the new paint job had to be re-done since the painter didn't feel the need to cut in the walls (he'd used a different color, so even I noticed it!)
The important thing is that we're somewhat settled, and the tension in the air has thinned enormously. One very cool feature here is the sliders that open onto a small screened-in deck. It's been pretty warm, and mom leaves the sliders open so I can come and go as I damn well please (the way it should be). It's pretty quiet around here, with the exception of what sounds like three or four dogs that bark incessantly (sometimes I impress myself with big words), usually starting around 4:30 a.m. They're yapping as I write, and I wish I had the ability to sneak into the
The aforementioned (gold star for me!) sliders have a set of vertical blinds that hang across them, and when the glass is closed and the blinds are pulled shut there is a four or five inch space between them where I like to sneak and peer out into the darkness. So far we've seen at least two other cats out the back, and some bright, beautiful, tasty-looking cardinals in the bushes that border the yard.
Once again, I can't tell you all how much I appreciate everything you wrote in my comments. It is good to be back, and I'll slowly get back into checking out all of your blogs in the coming days.

Okay, so read the last couple of posts (we've missed a bit here). And if we're reading correctly, the job your dad took and you all moved for turned out to be...not good. Along with the apartment. So your dad has another new job now and you have another new apartment, yes?
Whew. That's a lot of change and stress. Enough of that, we hope things settle into a good routine now and that all is well. Except for the dogs. (You have our sympathies on that one, since we have two scary dogs for neighbours. Pretty sure the owner has sold her unit now though.)
Sounds like things may be looking up (except for that dog problem you seem to have). Oh - and those blinds are great for disturbing the humans!!!
Sweet Orbit! We are so happy to read that you have at least settled in a nicer place! Well done mum and dad too!! We hope the woofies pipe down soon but at least you are in a better place than the one you were in at Christmas. Yay!!
Awwww enjoy the warm weather!! Take care

So good to read this post and know you are somewhere safe and liveable again. Hope things will continue to look up!
That's such a relief. We were so worried after your move into that dump, but am so glad everyone survived that and are now doing well.
Oh we are 13 tails STRAIGHT up that your and your peeps are in a better place. NOTHING is scarier than realizing you are in a terrible predicament...KUDOS to your Dad and Mom for getting out, and quickly. Not easily done, especially in this economy.
And KUDOS for your big words! We are impressed.
welcome back and congrats on getting out of the crummy situation!!
