I Sleep, Therefore I Am

So I've taken more and more to getting on the bed with mom and dad, though mostly in the mornings. I'll spend the night now and then, but as a creature of habit, I typically sleep in mom's chair. Once dad leaves for work I head upstairs to snuggle up with mom where I know it makes her oh so happy to wake up and find me there.

On weekends, dad still gets up at stupid o'clock and after his quiet java/reading time with me, goes back upstairs to lounge with mom until she wakes up. More and more lately, I'll head up after him and hop up on the bed, curling at their feet to continue my snoozy routine.

I guess there's something fascinating about a sleeping cat that melts humans' hearts and tells them to pester us. I know they mean well and can't get enough of us, but my goodness.

That's mom giving me some much-deserved loves.

And dad took this one back when the sleeping bag was still on the bed for extra warmth. He woke to find me tucked up against mom's legs & butt. Okay bye. I'm gonna go nap.

Smudge, you have the napping in the snuggling down pat. It's lovely that you get on the bed with your mom and dad. Only time anybody gets on my bed is when they walk across my stomach to remind me that it's time to get up and feed them.

I do like getting on the bed, but usually it is to provide a gentle reminder via toe bites or head slaps that she's overslept and breakfast is late ... otherwise, my own bed is preferable.

Oona: "So you see, it all works out!"

It seems we are the ones who pester the humans when they are trying to sleep, especially Astrid. And then there is the fact that at least five of us are always sleeping with the humans. We think they should just give us their bed! Enjoy the snoozy time with your mom. You are such a cutie. I can see why your folks can't help themselves from pestering you. XO

When it is cold we like to sleep with dad to get warm but when it is hot we look for a cool spot

I put a sleeping bad on the bed in deep Winter too, Smudge.
Make yourself comfortable.

Smudge, you are becoming accomodating to your parents. That really is a hidden paragraph in our Cat Book of Knowledge. You must do something to return the love.
I've been on Mom's head and shoulder joint a LOT. It makes her uncomfortable.

You've found some cozy spots to nap Smudge. Beans are generally a nuisance but they do add to the warmth. :)

Cuddling on the bed is fun. We all have our favorite cuddle partners and positions.

TBT tells us that dogs became Bein friends because they hunt and cats became Bein friends because they cuddle. Well, and catch house mice and play a lot and purr.

And we are darn cuter, annyway!
