Librocubicularists One and All

Yes, that's supposed to be a real word.  It means someone who reads in bed, and that pretty much describes mom, dad and me.
Let me know when you're ready for me to turn the page

Sure, we also read in chairs, on the patio, in the woods, at the park, while camping and hiking,
Ahh, I love the smell of books...

doing laundry, on the toilet and of course while mom sits in the magazine section at the library while aging a few decades waiting for dad to pick out a selection of books.  She usually has him go by himself so he can take as long as he likes.
Hey mom, wouldn't you rather be looking at me?

The bed is one of our most favorite places to read since it's the most comfortable.  How about all y'all?  Where's your favorite reading spot?
What?

Funny and So True

Seen on someone's refrigerator recently
I censored it.  Gotta keep this clean.

Do you suppose it's true?  Do you think I care?

Downtown, Finally

Dad took a few vacation days this past week, and he and mom finally got to spend some time wandering around downtown Wilmington for the first time in ages.  There were some exciting changes, they visited some old favorites and the Riverwalk had been extended since the last time they were down there. I'm glad they had a good time and got in a lot of walking, but it's funny how dad didn't include in this post any comments or pictures of the food, ice cream or beer they encountered along the way.

The old Courthouse
The Riverwalk
Cape Fear Memorial Bridge

Fountain with mom @ Federal Building/Courthouse
USS North Carolina Battleship Memorial

More Riverwalk
Horse Drawn Trolley
Making a Friend at Slainte Irish Pub

Thalian Hall in the Background

Santa Maria Replica Docked at Port City Marina
More Riverwalk facing the Isabel Holmes Bridge

The Battleship at Sunset

These last 3 aren't exactly from downtown.  They walked around Greenfield Lake Park again on the same day.  I knew I could smell something on them when they got home!  This was some shaggy little thing they met.
Yep, mom gets her Diet Coke, mom sings out with glee
Hey, that's MY lap!

A Mother's Day Photo Mom-pilation and Poem, With Love

Laps are for naps, it's no secret to most;

Dad's is okay, but not for this post.

For Mother's Day I want to pay tribute to her,

the woman who brings out my best snuggling purr.

Her voice is so soothing, the style of her play,

the way that she calls me when food's on the way,

compared to my dad with his taunting and toying,

I love him and all, but he's kind of annoying.

So mom, here's to you for providing for me-o

Happy Mother's Day with love,
Your dear old girl Cleo.

And Again with the Grocery Bag

Watch the ears! Check out that toenail polish
So as with a photo in a recent post showing the old girl on our bed here's a smattering of pictures involving these darn grocery bags.
Here, let me turn to make it easier for you
We don't know what it is about them.  Is it the crinkly sound?  The unique texture?  We're not sure, but we do know she loves to sit on them.
Ahhhhh….
Mom was combing her on this day and, as with every other grooming moment she can't help herself.
ahhh, goosebumps.  Oh wait, cats don't get- oh forget it
Mom always takes out 2 bags- one for Cleo's fur (from which we could probably make a mini-Cleo) and one for her to sit on.
And last "butt" not least-

When an Old Girl Needs a Nap

There's almost no place better than mom's lap.  Yeah, I'm kinda partial, though I do try to split my time between hers and dad's.
I lounge with them at different times of the day, so I guess you could say I'm an equal opportunity lap napper.
