Except for the past few days, the weather's been delightful out here in the mountains. Although the warmth doesn't always transfer to the inside of the house thanks to the 4-lane highway-wide soffit (the overhang blocks about 75% of the sun from our windows), I love it when mom opens up all the windows.
The air is fresh and breezy, I can watch and hear the chittering squirrels as they bound from tree limb to tree limb, the birdcall is explosive in full HD Surround and the pollen is, well, pretty much everywhere.
Put simply, I like sitting in front of the open windows.
Now, one might think from this second photo that I'm a large girl, but it's only an illusion, I swear. Although I have put on almost two pounds since arriving here, which sucks because now mom and dad have to watch my intake.

Smudge, you are a beautiful floofy girl! I also love to sit at the window and enjoy whiffies. Thus far, it hasn't really been warm enough to do so, but things will hopefully shortly change.

Smudge, if you really needed some poundage, I'd send you some of my 16. But no one ever seems to want it. I am so furry glad you moved into your new home in time to have Spring with the new adopted parents. You got the right ones, fur sure. Precious

You have a nice window for fresh air, and to see all that is going on. I wish spring would arrive, but I have a horrible feeling we will go straight into summer. I just hope it is not as hot as last year.

I'm having the opposite problem. Mom bean says I'm losing a bit of weight and my appetite (except for real live dead chikhen and treats) isn't good. Maybe I can have your extra pound or two?

Mine Mommy tells me tales of "the way you were" and I sing a song of "love me the way I am" ... so her solution is to say, "okay, here's some more treats". I am happy, she is happy that I am happy ... and then, like you, up on my window perch to watch birdies and get whiffies. It's a wonderful world isn't it?
Oh SMUDGE! What a gorgeous girl you are!!! I wouldn;t change a thing. I would say the extra 2# you added were needed. Right? Right. I have a very similar physique, and mancats are sending me notes all the time. So...be seen, you pretty thing... and the mancats will be there to give you treats and grass.
Smudge...in my humble opinion...any day IN the BEAUTIFUL NC mountains, no matter the weather or temperature, IS A WONDERFUL DAY. So happy you are eating 'cause that means you are a happy content Lady Cat (sorry about the weight gain)

Well, we know that you are svelte and slim, even if THEY don't haha. I have to watch my diet, too, but It's something you just get used to, Smudgy. Don't worry, you'll be healthier when you're a bit slimmer, but I had to do it because diabetes is a problem with kitties who are overweight. Happy Sunday.

Smudge I don't think you are large one bit!! I also think you are quite a good kitty! I cannot open our windows much (which I HATE) because Mr.Roary has put some holes in our screens (which we can't afford to have replaced right now). It REALLY upsets me because we have to turn the air on more frequently than we would like to!
Our crew loves a good window watch too. Especially the windows that face the front of the house - because the catio is on the back, so what happens out front is soooo mysterious!

the only warning i have for you if you do buy it is to make sure you follow the instructions as to how to fold it up! I did not follow them and broke my first tent within a day!
