Thank-full; a Before and After Post

As usual for some years now, mom and dad enjoy a hearty- but somewhat healthy- Thanksgiving dinner.  As I'm sure we've already said over the years mom has taught dad to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner without drowning everything in gravy, without his once-beloved canned cranberry sauce, and without more side dishes than one person could handle.
Sure, he still misses some of that stuff from time to time, and mom hasn't stopped worrying about his eating habits, but all in all he's learned to enjoy feeling better overall due to a better-late-than-never change in eating habits (thanks again, mom).  This year, in spite of their concerns about my health I even got a little treat, and boy did I relish that tasty burd!
Anyway, here's a little before and after display of our day.  I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and didn't get too full.
Mom's pie (unbaked- it's whole wheat dough) and pinwheels from extra dough and extra apples for applesauce

Cleo...OMCs everything looks delicious and I'm thrilled you got your fair share of turkey.
We had reservations at the Angus Barn for Thanksgiving Buffet. It was
scrumptious. YAY for the while wheat piecrust...it looks like cinnamon which is my favorite spice.

It's hard to change one's diet; look at how little kids won't touch anything but hot dogs and macaroni and cheese...and they are just babies! So we understand that your dad has liked certain things, but he's changing and that's good too. Food is medicine, but the advertisers and big conglomerates want us to eat and drink their stuff, which isn't always good for us.

All looks good! And Cleo, you ate that piece of turkey just right. Cat law demands that you take it out of the bowl or plate and eat it elsewhere!

Dad misses cooking for everyone but the clean up is way more fun. We have two big legs Dad cut the meat off for us and Miss Fitz likes taking it out of the bowl too. Is it a girl cat thing Cleo?

why that looks past scrumptious! Your mom did a superb job! Mom said she wishes she had been there to have some. She promises she wouldda left right after the meal and not been a pest. And you did what my family did! A big dinner, and a movie too. Only I took a nap.
