Candles and Headboards- A Cautionary Tale (warning: a TMI post, sort of)

So here's a funny story for you:
Mom and dad both have a touch o' the Irish in them, but St. Patrick's Day was pretty tame here.  There was no loud partying, green beer or any wild shenanigans. What started out as a day of relaxing and reading ended with a visit to the emergency room.  That's right, a certain ding-a-ling got himself a nice little gash on his head, and I'll try to keep the explanation as simple and PG-rated as possible. So anyway:

which, with the help of skin glue now looks like

See if you can figure out what happened.  And for the record, the first three photos were honestly intentionally snapped for a future tender, loving post.  And then, apparently, all hell broke loose (I'm not exactly sure what happened.  I left the scene shortly after the third photo was taken and the door was closed).

Dad was given the choice of stitches or skin glue, and he thought the glue would be less conspicuous.  Ha ha.

Did your Dad(sitting on the floor) reach up to get the candy and knock the big candle jar off the shelf and it hit his head?
Looks pretty nasty. Bet he will be needing more cuddles from you Cleo.

That sure looks kind of bad to us. Hope it heals up fast. You all have a good weekend.

I know it's a G rated version, but it's funny now. Not when it happened of course. You spin a great yarn, Cleo.

Have a purrfect day. My best to your peeps. ♥

Cleo it is purrfectly clear that our pawrents can, at times of high excitement, need some form of reigning in. I would suggest insisting they keep the door open so you can snoopervise more closely.
Dad says the ED did an acceptable job as that was where he used to be employed.

Wounds to the head and face tend to bleed like crazy, so I'm thinking you all had an exciting time! At least that booboo wasn't caused by your teeth or claws, Cleo!

You should tell them to be more careful while they're reading their library books!!!! One of them must have had a REALLY pointy side!!!!

We hope Dad's head isn't hurting too bad. I know you and Mom are giving him lots of TLC

I am glad you said it was PG rated!
I think your dad was taking photos of you on his legs, reached too high and knocked the candle down on his head.
It looks painful and I hope he is feeling better now.

I hope that gash heals up soon. I won't venture a guess as to what happened... I will just say that if that happened here, it would be the result of some crazy human shenanigans. And I will just leave it at that.

Well...thank goodness it was just the Dad who got hurt (kidding!!! sort of), I was afraid that someone's tail caught fire from the candle (that's what happened to my Angel Bobo years ago). Did the candle start to fall and then you gashed your head on the dresser? It looks awful and I sure hope you are ok! (and I MEAN that!)

Uh oh. We have no idea what happened to your dad, but whatever it was, we're sure our mom could do about the same spazzy thing.
