A Father's Day Post

I have five wonderful children (and one occasionally very child-like wife) for whom I am extremely thankful and love more than anything in the world.
That being said, this is the first Father's Day without Orbit in so many years, and he was like one of the kids.  Yes, with time we're getting over the loss of that crusty but loveable old fart, but we're also in the process of "cleaning house"- you know, going through things, deciding what we need and what we can honestly live without in our continued efforts to minimalize- and since Orbit passed away we've held onto a few of his things.  These are simple things I've mentioned in previous posts, but we've not been able to part with them quite yet.

It's a more difficult decision than we thought it ever would be.  They're just things, after all, but they were his things.  We'll see.

It's been a while since I've posted anything.  My mind's been consumed with work shit, day and night.  With a very few occasional exceptions all of my reading and writing time has been taken up by work, and my brain has been filled to exploding with work worries.  I have not been able to focus or concentrate on what I'm reading, and I certainly haven't been able to come up with anything creative worthy of sharing.

Anyway, a very Happy Father's Day to all you fathers out there.  Enjoy your summer!

We wish you a Happy Father's Day and you were equally special to Orbit. It's okay to keep special things and the memories will always be special.

It is hard to part with items that belonged to a beloved kitty. I kept all my KaChoo's toys, they are near her ashes box in the closet.

Happy Father's Day!
It's okay to hold on to those dear things forever! Mommy has collars and stuff from all her kitties. brandi's blanket is on the living room chair, and Quinn won't sit on the chair unless the blanket is there!

Purrs to you - after Sparkle died, my human immediately tossed out ALL her meds because she did not want to be reminded about that part of her life. (Of course, she could have used some of them a couple of months later for Binga, and had to go buy more.) The rest of it, she mostly kept because we other cats could use them. Harder was canceling online accounts she had in Sparkle's name. That has taken a while.

Happy Father's Day !
Remember that because of you Orbit has a wonderful life.
We think you should keep some mementos of Orbit.
You will find them, and the memories they bring, comforting.

Sorry to hear about all the work problems. If Orbit was here, he'd remind you to forget everything but pay attention to his needs and wants! Happy Father's Day.

Happy Dad's Day! You should hang on to a few of Orbit's things. The mom still has the collars and tags from the cats that came before us.

happy dads day back !!

and you know; orbit is, was and always will be .....one of the kids.

as far as tossing, keeping, giving away; I STILL have dude's blanket....it's going on 23 years old now; folded and put away with a quilt my grandmother made; that blanket means more to me than 85 % of the "stuff" in my house.

hope stuff settles down at work; and as far as sharing....I think I speak for all of us when I say, just seeing a snapshot of orbit would be awesome; if you are so inclined to go that direction !!

We hope you had a happy Father's Day. My mom still has things from her gone kidlets too. We think that's only natural. And human, too. :-)

I've held onto several things from the pets who have shared their lives with me. There's no harm in that. It may only be "stuff", but it brings back wonderful memories. And once once gone, it can never be replaced. I know someone will be cleaning out my house when I'm dead and wonder "what's this half-chewed cat toy doing in the safe with all the "valuable" items?"
