Going Forward

After giving it a lot of thought I've decided to keep Orbit's blog going for a while.  In between I'll post some odds and ends not related to him, as he reluctantly did occasionally (spotlight-sharing not being one of his strong points), and I still have some posts that were awaiting publishing.
I've also been going through my vast collection of photos of Orbit and I realize there are so many I hadn't used in previous posts.  Additionally, I may revisit some older posts, and do some sort of flashback thing.  We'll see.

My wife and I haven't stopped missing or thinking about Orbit, and I don't think there's another one out there who could ever take his place.  We've talked just a little bit about if/when we'll be ready to have another cat, and the only thing that's certain is that if we do, we want it to be a rescue.  God knows there are many out there just waiting for a forever home.
I just realized the other day that this is the first time in a long time I haven't had a cat with me.  Unfortunately, some things are up in the air right now as far as my job and our living arrangement.
Changes are afoot at work, and I'm not sure which direction things will take.  As much as I'd love to go right out and adopt another pet we're going to hold off for a bit. Since our apartment situation goes along with the job somewhat we don't want to welcome a new member to our family until we figure out where things are headed.
As Orbit learned many times over throughout his long life, moving sucks.  Period.  It can be especially stressful to a pet, never mind one just getting used to new minions masters.

Thank you for writing this, and for keeping the blog going. When it is time, we know you'll provide a magnificent home to a well-deserving kitty. Paws crossed things stop being 'up in the air' and a direction becomes clear.

I am so glad you'll keep blogging. It's 524 days today since I lost my Abby and I've just started to be able to post more about her without crying. It's a different journey for everyone. When Annabelle came across my radar, and I for one believe Abby lead me to her, I wasn't sure I was ready to adopt again. I had to think about it. Now I'd be lost without her. There will never be another Abby and there will never be another Orbit, but the heart does love again in a different way. If the time is right you'll know and Orbit would want your heart to love again.

We hopes that Orbit will send mew kitty to loves you when the time am right and you has your mew home and and stuff.

We know that when Nana's cat, Kitty went to the rainbow bridge, she sent Katie Too the same day for our Mom and BiBi for Nana months later... things just were really mewraculous about how Katie and Bibi were founded....

Since Orbit can see really far from Daddy God's lap - he will see just when to helps a kitty find you.

Purrz from Oreo... a founded kitty.

We like that you will keep the blog going.
We purr very hard that the job thing works well for you so that you do not have future worries.
If/when you get another kitty, it will not replace Orbit. No kitty can.
It will make it's own space in your heart.

If and when the time is right for a new kitty, you'll know. I hope it does happen, because a kitty would be really lucky to have such a wonderful family.

Please keep blogging. I know I haven't been good about it, but I do read other blogs, and I always loved yours. Orbit was a very special kitty, and you were all lucky to have been with each other. I hope your employment situation clears up [in a positive way]. When you are ready, there will be another very lucky kitty waiting for you.

Oh, please keep blogging. Hope the employment thing clears up!
When you are ready a good kitty will find you. If he/she is waiting for things to settle down a bit you are getting one smart kitty.
We enjoy reading your blog. We are so sorry for your loss. Know that Orbit will be in your heart always to comfort you in his own ways. You will smile at the memories without your heart breaking. We promise.

guys...no one will, or can, ever take orbit's place...ever...he is and always will be his own unique self, and when orbit knows the time is RIGHT, he will send another kitty(s) your way. he understands about the job and the move, and he will be patient.

and flashbacks are cool; we would enjoy seeing photos of orbit and sharing a bit more in his life since we are relatively new friends.

hope stuff settles at work; pots are stirring here as well, so I can relate.

That sounds like a plan! We didn't know Orbit, but like others have said, it would be nice to have flashbacks and also you will know when the time is right for another kitty. There is always a link, a sense of continuity! Good luck with the job situation! x0x

I'm so glad to hear that you are continuing Orbit's blog. I know that it can be so hard to blog after the loss of your baby; I had a very difficult time blogging anything after Jewel went.

I love the idea of doing a flashback thing for Orbit. I am doing something similar for Jewel, and it gives me a bit of comfort to share our memories.

::hugs:: and purrs from all of us!

Peep #1 says you'll ALWAYS remember Orbit no matter what. She says that Orbit will always, ALWAYS be right there with you in your heart and I believe her. I know that my peep still remembers and loves all my fur-fam who have gone up to Heaven before me.
